Instructor Information
|
| Rhon Mizrachi |
|
Master Instructor Rhon Mizrachi, Dan 5, has dedicated his life to the art of Krav Maga. He has been training for 37 years, over 25 of which have been spent as an instructor. He is the highest ranking practitioner of Krav Maga residing in the United States who is not self-ranked. He is a founding member of Krav Maga International-Kapap. In 2003, Rhon was certified as "Master Instructor" by Grandmaster Haim Zut. Rhon is the only Krav Maga instructor in the United States who has been given this title. Rhon is an eighth-generation Israeli and was born in Hadera and raised on Kibbutz Gan Shmu'el. He began his training at the age of seven under the instruction of Haim Zut and Imi Lichtenfeld. In November 1981, Rhon began his military service. His unit entered Lebanon in early June, 1982, taking part in the initial assault of the First War against Lebanon. He spent most of his military service inside Lebanon or patrolling the Israeli border with Syria. During the war, he continued his Krav Maga training, and towards the end of his military career he was recruited to teach Krav Maga to his unit. When his military service ended in 1984, he returned home with a deeper commitment to continuing his training with Haim Zut, determined to instill in other people the sense of right and responsibility to defend oneself, one's family, and one's homeland. It is because of these beliefs that Rhon not only continues to teach Krav Maga, but also continues to train Instructors, ensuring that Krav Maga taught outside of Israel will remain at the highest level. | Piotr Tuznik |
|
Piotr Tuznik, Dan 1, emigrated from Poland at the age of 13. Once here, he began training in
Krav Maga under Master Instructor Rhon Mizrachi, Dan 5, and Katrina Reynolds, Dan 2. Peter's
superior physical talents allowed him to excel at Krav Maga, and the fighting style appealed to
him. As he continued his training, Peter's commitment to both his teachers and the Art of Krav
Maga grew. Because of his values and beliefs( that we have the right to aggressively defend
ourselves, and with that ability comes the responsibility of protecting our family and
community), Rhon's commitment to his student also deepened. Peter
completed an Instructor
course taught by Rhon, and began his training as a Krav Maga Instructor. This path ultimately
led Pete to Israel during the 2008 KMF trip. During the training in Israel, Peter, like many
students of Rhon's, demonstrated in front of the Professional Committee the high level of
proficiency and skill that he possesses in Krav Maga. His knowledge of the details in Krav Maga
material of all levels and his ability to demonstrate this knowledge quickly and aggressively
allowed him to successfully complete the grueling Black Belt test (Partnered with Ed Maisonet,
Krav Maga Staten Island). This exam was presided over by Grandmaster Haim Zut,Dan 10, Head of
the Professional Committee Uri Refaeli, Dan 8, Meni Mehabad, Dan 3, and in front of his
teacher Rhon Mizrachi, Dan 5.
As Pete's skills as both a practitioner and teacher of Krav Maga continue to develop, so
too does his understanding of the values held by his teacher and this Federation. To learn more about Pete, please visit Brooklynkravmaga.com |
